Champagne at the Con: Chuck

This is the first thing I saw after standing in line all morning. It was totally worth it.
Chuck started off my day in truly epic fashion. A rendition of “Fat Bottomed Girls” performed by Chuck’s very own “Jeffster”. The crowd erupted into cheers, as the cast and writers filtered in. The panel started off with a Season 2 recap, which made me realize a very important fact. I had clearly missed something. Having watched Chuck through Hulu only, I never knew that the actual finale of Chuck, was never posted, and thus I never saw it. I am rectifying this as soon as possible.
Chuck, like all good shows, was in clear danger of being canned by the network. Luckily for the cast and crew, television fans have had their grassroot skills well honed by seeing favored shows get canceled early, their stories left unfinished. (I still miss you Serenity) Through fantastic fan sites like Chucktv.net, and a wonderful promotions with Twitter, and Subway’s national “Save Chuck” day on April 27th, fan voices were heard and the show got picked up for a third season. Apparently, noone was more surprised than the writers, as they weren’t expecting to write their way out of “I know kung fu”.
The cast is obviously more than thrilled to be back. The banter between them was hilarious, and everyone seemed really excited for the new season. The writer’s didn’t want to reveal very much, but they were allowed to let us know a little of what to expect.
-They plan to continue bringing in amazing guest stars, and have some old ones return, like Scott Bacula, and Tricia Helfer
-Captain Awesome will be pulled into the Spy World, much to Elle’s dismay
-The Buy-More will remain in the show, although I dont know to what capacity as all it’s employees quit
-Chuck and Sara are going to suffer “an emotionally traumatic event” but “It will totally be good” Hooray for vagueness
A new site is being setup to keep fans posted during the months before Chuck returns. You can see new content at Chuckmeout.com
Family Guy and it’s new spinoff, The Cleveland show is up next. Stay Tuned.
